She made no attempt to open the door, speaking quietly from the other side of it.

"It's about.. Darkman," she said, and hesitated. She didn't know much about Darkman. Even the records she'd been able to find in Zero's time hadn't included a picture or much information. "We don't know how yet, but... he was injured while in the Sages Nexus. Dal... Mr. Nimbus... is trying to find out just what happened and why the anti-violence field the place is supposed to have didn't prevent this..."

Even if Iceman wasn't upset, Judy Bannister was. A child had been injured, quite possibly killed, in a place where such an event should have been impossible. She didn't even know enough about that one to identify him, and yet... Why was reality so unfair sometimes? He should have been safe there!

Why couldn't there be just one place in reality where no one could ever hurt a child...

(she also doesn't know it was Darkman she talked to and not Blues... yet. And while Iceman wouldn't know about Quint in the Nexus, odds are he might have known about Quint's reputation... and that Wily was slowly disassembling him for scrap. But I doubt that'll come up in this conversation...)
