[Below is an archived version of a very long GJ post. Since GJ is dead, no point in providing an original link now. Icons and threading not preserved, and probably best viewed flat. This version may still contain one or two small mentions of scratched events. I have colorcoded those a really light grey until I can contact the other mun involved and we can do any planned cleanup... until then, just try to overlook those parts. Other than that, all I did was tweek a few typos/punctuation errors that my charas made. I've also divided the party-splits and scene breaks as much as I could, using Subject Line instead of thread to indicate.]

Breaking into Skull Castle
Location: Skull Castle 6

Basically, it's what one would come to expect from a place owned by Wily. The place is well secured, with the typical defenses.

[Blues (1st_mistake@greatestjournal.com)]
Blues warps into the general area, just oustide of where the perimiter defenses and teleport shielding should end... or at least where they did in his universe.

He could remember at least twelve ways offhand to sneak into the Sixth castle. More if he had time to think about it. Slapping a signal jammer onto his armor to help prevent detection, he started to sneak closer.

Then he remembered both Shido and Plant would be sending 'help'. Why had he agreed to that?

Blues sighs. The answer was simple. Because of the time limit involved. Which also made having to wait for the backup really irritating.

And if Wind was dead, the timer was counting down.

[Tango (lilgreentabby@greatestjournal.com)]
Tango warped in a moment later. Familiar with situations like this by now, she waits outside the shielded area for Blues to come to her and stick on a jammer.

As she waits she hisses a message in pure binary - maintaining radio silence and forgoing the masking feline sounds or met-style beep compression as they're more likely to be overheard than the faint quiet staticky crackle she makes now.

She reports that Wind escaped but was locked up. This may have bought them time, but since Wind's status is unknown it may not have.

[Forte (forte_@greatestjournal.com)]
Forte's the next to arrive, already fused with Gospel and in an irritable mood. He'd been asleep when Shido had shook him awake with the news, and it was a wonder he hadn't blasted the firebug before he'd woken up all the way.

He's not sure what's going on, other than it had to do with Wind and some planted bombs, and starts to ask Blues why they're here.

[Blues (1st_mistake@greatestjournal.com)]
Blues holds up a hand, warning Forte against speaking, just in case. He explains the situation in the same rapid and quiet binary static Tango used, at the same time sticking jammers on both Tango and Forte.

He frowns slightly and after a moment's consideration sticks an extra jammer on one of Forte's wings, just in case he should have to split from Gospel.

[ (windofmayhem@greatestjournal.com)]
It's oddly quiet. The only things really noticeable are the automated defenses, and they're on the settings to deal with your normal everyday intruder. No signs of much else. And the defenses seem to have not yet noticed the intruders. It just seems like a normal day.

[Forte (forte_@greatestjournal.com)]
Forte frowns. It just doesn't seem like Skull Castle without at least one of the Robot Masters hanging around on the roof and singing some variant of the 'bottles of beer on the wall' song or something else inane while they waited for their shift to end.

But then, he remembers with a grin, they wouldn't have much of a reason to watch for a flying attacker. Not yet. He says as much to Blues, in the same hissing binary.

[Elec (feathers_in_wax@greatestjournal.com)]
And the backup Plant called for is here. It had only taken a mention of Wind to generate a lot of interest. Elec, Slash, Cut, Snake, Centaur, Punk, and Crystal all warp into the area, all but three of them wondering what the hell is going on.

[Blues (1st_mistake@greatestjournal.com)]
Blues explains as quickly as possible, slapping jammers on everyone. These wouldn't prevent teleportation, but would hopefully mask tracking signals. Problem was, since the teleport jammer hadn't worked on Wind, there was no way to be certain these would work at all.

He told them so, along with a caution to stick to binary, and maintain radio silence unless in danger of capture. If things got even more out of hand, speed was more important than stealth.

-We'll have to split up, but don't go anywhere alone.-

-Centaur's got one of the targets at another location. One of possibly eight.- He relayed the coordinates. -First is most likely, rest are less so. Someone needs to go with Tango and check it out.-

-If you find anyone who's not an Epsilon, move fast. We might not have time to knock them out.-

He dumped out the contents of the pack, leaving it on the grass. -Slap one of these on them. It's a jammer that will also, hopefully, prevent them from using their own teleporter. Then these-, he indicates the other devices, -will allow for teleporting through shielding. They're already set to drop you in the Nexus. Grab your target and get out. We don't have time to play around.-

[Centaur (trick_pony_@greatestjournal.com)]
Centaur knew he wasn't good at sneaking. And there was something else. He wanted to see his alternate, even if it was just to give him a sound kicking. -I'd like to go with Tango.-

[Crystal (crystal_mystic@greatestjournal.com)]
-I should go as well.- Crystal says, calmly. -Either myself or Punk, as our weapons would be most effective against the other Centaur.-

He briefly glances up at the stars through the trees. There was another reason to go, though he couldn't determine exactly what it was just yet. It would be clear in time...

[Blues (1st_mistake@greatestjournal.com)]
Blues can't help noting the irony. -You and Punk both go, just in case. Forte, take Snake with you and see if you can drop in on the roof. Elec, you take Slash with you and head around to the other wall...- he hurried through instructions of one place to find entry, if you were agile enough. -which leaves Cut with me. Remember, if your seen, speed outweighs the need for steath. Hit them fast and hard, but don't waste time fighting. Run if you can. And we're out of time for chat.-

At that, Blues started to sneak towards the Castle, as quickly as possible.
