Mikoto Replies To A Question About Purpose

He hasn't been to this part of the multiverse before. It hardly makes a difference (give him five years and he'll still be awestruck at the mere notion of such a place). It seems unlikely the whole Nexus could be explored in one lifetime anyway. That doesn't mean he's not going to have a crack at just that. In between meals. And work. And the many things he plans for after hours.

That doesn't stop Alistair from practically skipping into the place. Literally spinning around as he tries to see this and get a glimpse of that. Carefully keeping his hands to himself as he grips the strap of his messenger bag. Once he gets distracted once again from the strange looking plant that had caught his eye, he beams about the place cheerfully. Be forewarned all ye who grouch here: pessimism isn't in Alistair's vocabulary. (And many a soul has tried to introduce it to him).
