[Captain Jack Harkness (capnhotness@livejournal.com)]
Jack Harkness hasn't been in this place for years -- centuries, if he wanted to get technical about it -- and yet it still seems the same. Which is the beauty of a place like the Nexus: with everything in near-constant flux, a compilation of universes all crossing together in new and unique ways at any given time, nothing ever really changes from that particular norm.
At the moment, he isn't entirely sure why he felt compelled to come back, other than the fact that the Nexus has comfortable furniture, great cocktails, and a plethora of free advice. So, with the first two things on that list procured, in the form of a couch that looks like it was over-stuffed and a cocktail in a martini glass with a couple pieces of fruit skewered as garnish, Jack settles back to obtain that third thing on his list.
"Early retirement:" he prefaces, "great way to spend one's best years before arthritis sets in or is life without a career boring as hell?"
