[Clark Kent (solarsteel@livejournal.com)]
Clark's back. It's been a little while since his first visit, and there have been several upheavals in his life, so the long time residents will have to forgive him for grabbing something to drink from the bar before he settles into a seat somewhere.
And because he's still trying to label his relationship to Conner, "How do you deal with sudden family-hood?"

Blues' Reply
Date: 2013-02-27 03:16 (UTC)"Got lost for about three years when I was a lot younger. By the time I made it home, I had a small army of younger siblings I'd never met. I dealt with it about the same way you are," Blues gives a half smile and indicates the drink Clark got.
"The bad part of that was, after about three glasses of scotch, Dad's plans for taking over the world started to make sense..."

His smile is brief. "You sprung for a fresh lemonade too?" See, Clark rarely drinks because alcohol tends to not affect him at all, at least on Earth, and since taste is subjective, he reserves liquor intake for actual social situations.
"Ah. Did you go through with them or change your mind when sober?"

"E-tank, actually. The lemonade probably would have been worse for me than the liquor back then. Decided to find out if I could get drunk after meeting the rest of my new younger siblings, nearly having my scarf stolen, and a few other things."
"I went along with it for a while, to find out just what was going on. Played both sides for a bit after that." Blues shrugs. "My world's government wasn't so great at the time, and is even worse now. I'd have been all for Dad taking the place over, if he'd still been the person I remembered. But he wasn't, so I tried to keep the damage down."

Clark nods slowly. "It's hard sometimes to look at someone and see who they really are. Not who you want them to be, or the person they once were."

"Denial can be dangerous for everyone," Blues agrees. "And if you're the big brother, then you can't afford it."
