It seems, what with my enjoying the chaotic atmosphere over at the Nexus ([community profile] sages_of_chaos) that I have been neglecting my own journal...

For now, here is some daft online thing. I'm not certain I agree with the results...

And now back to trying to make sense of this 'Megaman' universe that so many new additions to the Nexus are from. How strange they are... supposedly cybernetic beings that look like chibi-ish human children in body armor...

Whoever all of these little people are, they seem to have an even more tangled family tree than I do. As far as I can tell, the one introducing himself to new arrivals as Blues Wily is the oldest, then Rock, and then Forte? Or is Roll a twin of Rock's?

At any rate, they all seem to be siblings, yet they look like chibis in riot gear. There's something vaguely disturbing about the sight of a small child that can reform an arm into a blaster weapon...

Although, that said I can hardly wait until Skitter is old enough to begin weapons training...

Ahem... but back to this bunch. I'm having difficulty sorting out who is who for the most part among these 'reploids'. I did search online, but the information I found on a related series of Nintendo games had different names.

Forte looks a lot like Bass... are they meant to be the same person?

I may have to start making a list of them to keep track of the sudden new additions.

Or maybe I should just ignore them. As strange as they are, my curiousity is likely only some way of distracting myself from the current situations with Depthcharge and with my Father... attempting to work out another complicated family tree to avoid thinking of my own, perhaps?

Alrighty then...we shall have a crash course in Megaman/Rockman 101. I'm your professor Ironbite. Let's begin.

For starters, Bass=Forte. Bass is just the American name of Forte. And to keep it simple, I'll be going by American names.

In 20XX, we have Dr. Thomas Light and Dr. Albert Wily inventing some new robots as helpers for around the house stuff. Robots for gardening, moving heavy loads, butlering, bodyguard, maid, stuff like that. So, they invent Rock(Megaman), Roll, Blues(Protoman), Cutman, and Gutsman. We with me so far?

Dr. Wily gets it in his head that he can use these robots to take over the world. So he steals Protoman, Cutman, and Gutsman. Dr. Light decides to send out Rock to recapture and/or destory the stolen robots. To do so, Light reconfigures Rock into Megaman, replaceing one arm with a blaster arm. This arm can also copy any other Robot's weapons and he can use them as his own. Yay for simple minded game plots.

Dr. Wily has been very busy. He invents very specilized robots, Snakeman, Drillman, Sparkman, etc. Their name's actually describe them pretty well and what weapon they have. Except for Protoman who's basically a very evil/mysterious version of Megaman. Heck, there are some instances where Protoman helps out Megaman. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

So on and on throughout the years, Megaman defeats the forces of Dr. Wily. Taking their weapons and using them against other Robot Masters. Until....the invention of Zero, the first Reploid. Wily creates Zero to do just one thing, Kill Megaman. And he succedes. Also, he kills off like...half the world's population leading to what is refered to in the Megaman X seris as the Catclsym.

Now we enter the Reploids, lead by Megaman X. Zero's sorta a good guy sorta a bad guy depending on the game. But at this point, the robot masters have been replaced by Mavrick Reploids. These are Reploids who are "evil" and are controlled by Sigma, a very weird dude who I think has an ego-complex bigger than Barney's, if you catch my drift.

And that's a glossed over history lesson of the Megaman universe.

I suppose that makes sense. Although... Blues doesn't seem all that evil. Insane, perhaps... I mean, the worst he's done since I've been watching was to glue Forte to the ceiling. In pink ladies underwear.

Hmm. Maybe he IS evil..,

Well see...that's a different Blues. Or someone pretending to be Blues. I dunno.

The Blues/Protoman I'm familier with is a heavy drinker. Well, when your brother is Megaman, you better be a heavy drinker. Cause he's that damn stupid.

This one seems to be as well... although I think he was sober during the incident with Forte.

Ah, yes... so many interesting people, most of whom are completely unaware of my reputation. And they come there in states of emotional distress, seeking help for problems...

What's not to like? :)

Mm-hmm. And I'd say it's a pretty good opportunity for you to make a fresh start- if the guys over there don't know anything about you before meeting you, then they ain't gonna be prejudiced or judgemental 'cause of what they've heard through the grapevine. And I reckon that's a good thing. :)

Primus.. that Sages of Chaos is a spaz. Other weird robot forms, funky humans with sex and drug problems, and talking cars, boats, and kitchen sinks. Damn... earth is a lot more slagged-up than I thought!

*giggles* The kitchen sink did kinda made me think "O_o", so you ain't the only one by any means. :) I don't think it's just Earth though: the Sages Nexus probably has guys from other planets too. You Cybertronians, for instance. It's not like you guys are natives here, right? ;)

I admit, I can't see Rampage as a drama geek. *snickers* But then I don't see myself as one either, and that's what I got... *confused look* I was expecting 'loner', or something similar...
