mosaic_archive: and scratched or NPC charas... (Nexus CPS)

Dal Nimbus recieves a phone call from Dr. Bannister. He leaves to head to her location. A few minutes later they both return... Dal is carrying Iceman, who has locked up after the little bot realised he'd broken some of the Laws Wily's coded into him...

Having discussed the matter during their return, they check the contact information that has been tracked down... glad to also find a note that memory system scans from Dal showing verbatim recordings of conversations should be admissable in court... and set up the nearby computer for a teleconference with the sane version of Dr. Wily...

"Dr. Bannister here, CPS." She tapped a few keys to see if Wily had the right sort of computer for, and would accept, videoconference communication.

"The police report has been filed in the case against that insane version of you... but something happened when I was about to attempt to move one of the children into protective custody..."

"The kid's locked up... some sort of saftey precaution the other Dr. Wily must have installed..."

Wily activated the videoconferencing software. "That's not good. He probably broke one of the Laws. I can walk you through uninstalling them, or you can teleport him to me and I can do it myself. I might even be able to e-mail you a patch. Which would you prefer?"

"Dr. Bannister can't teleport or be teleported. She's human. And I don have the ability." He placed Iceman gently on the makeshift 'bed' Dr. Bannister had prepared near the computer. "Could try hooking him to the computer, if that's possible..."

"I think he did break at least one of the Laws..." She looked away from the screen uneasily for a second, and rubbed absently at her wrist.

"Blues was there, and warned that there might be password protection on Iceman's programming..."

"Passwords? Feh. Hook him up directly. I'll have that nasty little reprogramming job sorted out in no time... I do dislike the Laws immensely."

Dal nodded, and looked to Iceman. "Any idea if he has an access port or where it would be?"

Dr. Bannister got out of her chair again to look for connector cables while Dal and Dr. Wily located the access port on Iceman. She returned with one quickly, as well as a box of adaptors in case the port on Iceman was different from the one on their computer system.

"I noticed that Blues said Iceman had broken the First Law several times, before he was reprogrammed... I'm going to try and alter any homicidal tendencies he may have. And I'm going to improve his AI to learning-grade. I wouldn't know where it would be on HIM, but you may wish to try behind the ear, if you can pull back the parka hood."

Dal Nimbus carefully pushed back the hood on Iceman's parka/armor and found the access port. He took the appropriate adaptor from the box Dr. Bannister had found and between the two of them they soon had Iceman hooked up to the computer.

"I'm not certain he'd have homicidal tendancies... not of his own choosing, anyway. He mentioned the other Dr. Wily makes him and his siblings guard the Skull Palace they live at." Quietly, she continued, disturbed by the idea. "They're under orders to kill anyone who approaches. That might be what Blues was referring to."

"Possibly, possibly. We'll know in just a moment... And I'm in! Examining and rewriting code now."

Dal Nimbus noticed Dr. Bannister looking a bit droopy... she hadn't slept much the night before. He brough her a cup of coffee before going to prepare one of the emergency shelter rooms for Iceman.

Judy sipped her coffee and looked over at Iceman. "It was the Third Law he'd broken, I think..," she said quietly.

"Alright. I've got the reprogramming mostly down... His systems are going to try and revert when he boots up, so I need you to run the patch 3laws.exe as part of the bootup sequence. That should clear things up for good. Anything else?"

Dr. Bannister shook her head slightly. "No, not at the moment... Thank you, Dr. Wily."

Wily nodded. "The pleasure is most certainly mine. Good luck with him..."
